Alice In Wonderland Bridal Shower

Hi Ya'll!

Happy Monday!  Oh, Monday....I strongly dislike you!

Today I am going to share a bridal shower that myself and few amazing gals threw for my BFF, Casey.  Casey's wedding was a sort of "Secret Garden" theme and she was incorporating tea cups and lovely wild flowers.  It was beautiful!  She would have loved to have a Alice In Wonderland themed wedding but decided to go the more romantic route.

So what did her bridesmaids/hostesses decide?  To throw her an Alice In Wonderland themed bridal shower!  The ideas started flowing immediately with this creative group of gals!  I have been called a "shower nazi" in the past and I would say that I probably kept that name for this shower....but I tried really hard to not be SO controlling!  Her sister, Tracy, is super creative and I knew she would have some great ideas!  Not to mention, my Mom, SIL, Lesley and cousin Jennifer who are amazingly creative in their own rights!  I knew that I didn't HAVE to be overly controlling because these girls wouldn't let me down! They might have talked behind my back but it's ok....just don't ever tell me what was said and I'll stay in my own little world of naivte.

I hope you're ready for an influx of pictures....

Casey with her bridesmaids/hostesses.
My mom's missing...she wasn't a BM but she helped tremendously w/ the shower!

 The "blushing" bride, Casey

We wouldn't let her see the decorations until we were completely done.
It about killed her, I think!
Lesley did such a great job on the banners!  We had this one "Curiouser & Curiouser" and one that said "We're All Mad Here" -sorry, no pic, the sun messed up our shot!

 Avery, our adorable rabbit!

I made her "corsage/mum" from ribbon, a mum backing & wooden letter "R" for her new last name.
All supplies were purchased at Hobby Lobby for half off, of course!

 The "tea" table

Each teacup had a "Drink Me" tag on it.

Lesley used my Cricut to make these tags to label the different types of tea we had.

We used clocks found at various antique stores on all the tables to add character.
If something wasn't the color we wanted, we spray painted it.
We used Krylon's "Blue Ocean Breeze" and red spray paint from Lowe's (I DO NOT recommend using Lowe's brand of spray paint!  It did not dry for crap!)

Her cake turned out awesome!  I sent a specific idea to Yum-Yum Bakery, a bakery in my hometown and she rocked it!  My  mom added the flowers.  She's awesome!!

We used the Cricut again to make these "Sit Here" signs

We framed her invitation and put it by the sign in sheet.

Tracy used her Cricut to make this adorable banner!

We use different letter "R's" to personalize the tables.

Old books were used to give dimension on the tables.

Of course, we had all the "tea" like foods.  YUM!

for the cold drinks, we served water with lemons, limes and fresh mint.
And you can't have a bridal shower with out an adult beverage! ;) Well you can, but it makes it more fun!
We made Sangria.
It's SO easy!  Red Wine, Sugar, Orange Juice and Cherry Brandy.

We framed quotes from the book and movie to really give it the Alice In Wonderland touch!

"I'm late, I'm late, for a very important date. No time to say 'Hello, Goodbye.' I'm late, I'm late, I'm late."

"Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast."

"I can't go back to yesterday because I was a different person then."

"Begin at the beginning and go on til you come to the end; then stop."

"Have I gone mad?" "I'm afraid so, you're entirely bonkers. But I'll tell you a secret.  All of the best people are."
(I love this quote...because I'm half mad!)
"If I had a world of my own everything would be nonsense.  Nothing would be what it is because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary-wise; what it is it wouldn't be and what it wouldn't be it would. You see?"

"Why is a Raven like a writing desk?"

"Twinkle twinkle, little bat. How I wonder where you're at" p above the world you fly like a tea tray in the sky."

I love, love, love how it turned out and Casey was so excited to have Alice In Wonderland be a part of her wedding!

Enjoy...The Curvy Life.
