What I'm Loving...+ Weigh In Wednesday

Hi Ya'll!!

Today is Wednesday so I am linking up with the lovely Jamie at This Kind of Love for What I Love Wednesday and with Courtney at Journey of a Dreamer for Weigh In Wednesday.  To learn more about WIW, check out this post.

So sit down, grab a cup of coffee or even better a glass of wine (what?  It's after 12 and completely acceptable!) and find out what I'm loving on this beautiful December Day!

Let's get the dreaded weigh in part over with.
I actually LOST 1.2 lbs and I have absolutely no idea how because I have only exercised once and up until Monday I was eating like a Europeans kid on his/her first trip to America...all fast food, all the time.  Plus fried deer meat on Saturday and a freaking blizzard from DQ to top it all off Sunday night.
Nope, not one of those things even had to do with the holidays.
It all had to do with my rebellion against dieting and the fact that I decided Monday would be my "start" day.
I have been good this week...you know, the past two days.
Whatevs.
Watch out.  Next week's weight loss is going to blow ya'll away.
Did someone say chocolate?  I kid, I kid.

Now...On to the fun part.
(One day I'll think nutrition/fitness is the fun part, right?  That's what all the fitness/weight loss blogs tell me.)
What I'm Loving.
Ya'll know how I love a good bargain.
This guy above is like $50 at BB&B and I scored it for $20 at Ross today.
Someone is going to be so lucky when they open this at one of the Chinese Christmas exchanges we have this year.
We only  have 5.  yeah. 5

Still talking about Ross and it's awesomeness.
I got these 2 dresses today for under $25, yes for BOTH.
Ross, where in the hell is my "Rossome" commercial equivalent to the Maxenista commercials?
Get on that.

And this beauty is, of course, from Ross as well.
Blazer's are all the rage.  Did you know?
I'm thinking this will make it's debut at one of the 5 Christmas celebrations we have this year!

I just love my dining room table centerpiece this year.
I wanted something different and my mom gave me the idea of the candy.
I already had the apothecary jars, the glitter balls & the tray.
All I had to buy was the candy.
I love all the COLOR.
Def one of my favorite decorations this year.
It makes me think of being a kid and what's not great about that?

 OH my goodness.
My bff told me about these salads.
They come with all the fixins.
All you do is mix them together when you're ready to eat.
PLUS they're low in cals.
The only negative is that it's not super filling.
But add a piece of fruit w/ lunch and you're set.
I'm only sort of starving right now.

Continuing on the food subject.
Hello, I didn't get fat because I hate food!
This 2 Alarm Chili Kit is the bomb.com.
My SIL told me about it awhile back.
I've been waiting and waiting for cold weather to make it.
Finally, we got into the 50's this week so I jumped at the opportunity to use this.
It was SO damn good.
We had it two nights in a row.  That good.

Last but not least, I'm LOVING the Scentsy Festival of Trees.
We don't do a real Christmas tree.
We had one one time when I was a kid and all I can remember is having to water it all the time and vacuum up all those damn needles.
No thanks.
So, this makes me feel like I have a real tree without all the work.
Perfect.
My SIL sells Scentsy, hop on over to her website and getcha some!

Well, my lovelies that's what I'm loving....go link up w/ Jamie and tell us what you're loving!

Tuesday's Threads + Gifs That Explain It All

Hi Ya'll!

Happy Tuesday!

I only have one outfit to share today.  I am failing at this pretty miserably!

Cardigan-Old Navy, Tank-TJ Max, Necklace-Sam Moon, Pants, Ross

Now...on to some funny stuffs....

I started Couch to 5K yesterday, FINALLY.  You can see my excuses below.

Me and my friends last week after I decided to drink rather than start Couch to 5K
Here were my excuses:
It's weird to start anything on a Wednesday
I didn't have groceries so I couldn't start a diet
We were having friends over for fried deer meat on Saturday
All valid but not valid excuses

Me after a few glasses of wine.
Who cares about working out.  I'm a princess!

Me the next morning on my way to work.
I am so not a princess.  Princesses don't have to work.

You would never hear me utter those words.
Because all I can do in Yoga is toot at an unexpected time.

Me when someone tells me "I love to workout!"
Crazies!

Me on just about any Sunday.
I can't get up to pee but you say breakfast and I'm doing jumping jacks.

Me when I'm at the gym working out with all those skinny bitches girls.
Great form, no?

Me when I try to do any of those fancy workout videos.
How I was ever in drill team or a cheerleader I'll never know.
I can barely walk without falling.

How I walk when I'm at the grocery store in my work out clothes and have ACTUALLY worked out.

Enjoy...The Curvy Life.

Weekend Wrap-Up + A WINNER!

Hi Ya'll!

I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend!

I know this time of year can be so hectic and stressful!  It always is for us.  This year, though, it seems like fewer people are having Christmas parties...or we're just getting fewer invites.  Either way, I'm totally OK with it.  It's been nice to have friends over the past few weekends with no fuss!  We're that couple that is always on the go and always has plans.  So when we get a weekend with no "real" plans, other than friends over for dinner, we are two happy campers!

Here's a re-cap of  how much we ate what we did this weekend:

Friday: We were supposed to go to dinner for our anniversary but I was exhausted after a busy week at work so we decided to have a few too many drinks and make it an early night.  I was in bed by 10, I believe.

Saturday:  We went and got donuts when we woke up.  I know, totes NOT on the plan for my "Holiday Weight Loss Challenge".  I have a hard time saying no to a donut.
After that we pretty much laid around until it was time for our company.
My STBSIL (soon to be SIL) + my bff and her hubs were coming over for dinner.
The Fiance made fried deer meat.  (stop drooling)

The Fiance and The BFF's hubs in the kitchen cooking.
There's so much right about this picture!
They pretty much did all the work and we sat on the couch and gossiped!

If you're offended by animal meat...this is completely fake + you're missing out.
The Fiance prepping the deer meat.  He soaked it in canned milk for 2 days.
I'm sure it was fat free canned milk.

Holy mother of all things holy...there are no words to even describe how good it was.
My mouth is watering now just thinking about it.
Since we were being bad...I figured why not be real bad.  #fatgirlsframeofmind
So I whipped up some homemade mashed potatoes and used a recipe from The Pioneer Woman.  If you've never had her Creamy Mashed Potatoes, well, you've never really had good mashed taters, then.  My friend Meagan from "I Like It, I Love It" told me about them awhile back and Oh My GOODNESS....get ready for a food "O" because they're that good!  Check out the link above for the recipe!  We had corn too.  Yeah...just a big huge carb & starch filled, delicious, mouth watering meal.  It pretty much screamed "Heart Attack On A Plate".
By the time dinner was ready we were like ravenous beasts starving and no one got a picture of the beautiful heart attack on a plate.  Darn.

After dinner the boys played some golf game on the XBox and the girls sat around and gossiped some more while watching Bridesmaids.  It was a wild and crazy night, if you can't tell.  My bff's preggers so she drank "sparkling grape juice" so that she felt like she was actually having some wine.  Bless her heart.
OH...I felt Lincoln Jack (the baby growing inside her) move for the first time.  So that was fun!
I think the evening wrapped up around 10:00 and we were all ready for bed.  That's what eating all that fatty/fried amazingness will do to you!  I couldn't even drink a beer after.  I was done at 7. I could have easily gone to bed then.

We also had fun watching Sadie Mae go and steal her big brother's bones.
He was much too interested in what the boys were making in the kitchen and kept leaving it unattended.

Side Note:  I love how boys say they're "playing golf" when they're really playing a video game.  Like they're so serious about it.  The Fiance will even tell me "I have a golf tourney at 3" when he's really just going to a bar to play Golden Tee.
Cracks. Me. Up.
Does your man do that?  Or is it just my golfer fiance?

Sunday:  Oh, Sunday.  How I love thee.  This should start out with "we went to church".  We are in the market for a new home church but I'll be honest, we haven't been actively looking like we should.  We really do want to become church members and have a marriage based around Christ.  That's another post though...
Back to what we did on Sunday.  Sunday's have become my "lazy" days.  Sometimes I might not even brush my teeth.  However, that wasn't the case this Sunday because we went and had breakfast and drove around talking for awhile.  We're weird.  Sometimes we like to just hop in the car and drive around and talk and look at how the town we grew up in has changed so much.  The Fiance's grandparents and mom both grew up in our used to be small town and so did my Mom...so we always have fun stories to re-tell about places or houses that aren't even there anymore.  Oh my...yeah, we are like a 65 year old couple.  It's ok.  I love us just that way!
After our senior citizen drive around town I took a nap and then watched three, yes, three Lifetime Christmas movies in a row.  Where do I turn  my cool card in for my cheesepuff and AAA card?

My weekend was boring and AMAZING.  The perfect weekend, in my opinion.

In other news...

The weather here in North Texas has decided that maybe it will be Winter.
That will probably only last a few days and we'll be back in the 70's and 80's.
I'm really annoyed by it...Global Warming or whatever they call it.
I have some cute winter clothes that I need to cover my fat to wear.
So come on, Mr. Winter.  Come on down to Texas.

Last but not least.
I finally got around to doing the drawing for my Giveaway.
I was going to have the most adorable toddler in the world draw but he has a hectic schedule and we couldn't meet up.
So I did the drawing myself.
I'm so excited to say that Jennifer Linhart won.
She's also, my cousin and MOH.
I swear though, this was a true, honest drawing.  I took pictures of every step.
Honestly, I get embarrassed when someone I know wins....but it is what it is.

One last thing and then I'm done blabbing.

What music do you listen to when you workout?  I have a Workout Playlist on Spotify but I am needing to add more songs and change it up a bit.  HELP!  Comment me here, Instagram, Facebook or Tweet me!  PLEASE!

Enjoy...The Curvy Life.

Insta-Friday

Hey Ya'll!

You want to see my random and weird pics from this week?

I'm linking up with Life Rearranged for Insta-Friday.

Disclaimer: My phone sucks balls and takes crappy pictures, especially in the dark.  It looks like I'm in a smoke filled room...but nope, I'm outside with no smoke.

We had some friends over this weekend for hamburgers.
Zane, my nephew came too.
He loves his Uncle so much.
The Fiance loves him, too.
He cut a pool noodle we had in the garage to be just Zane's size.
He loved it.
Then he discovered the Red Solo Cups we had in the garage from a party awhile back.
He loved the cup.
Not because he knows the meaning of a Red Solo Cup but because he likes to pretend drink out of "big people" cups.
This little boy is the light of my life.

The Fiance looks so thrilled in this picture...
He actually is and loves Zane so much.
I think I caught them both off guard.

My Koopa thinks he's a lap dog.
This is him sitting on me, on the couch.
I'm a softy, what can I say?
He's an old man and I let him get away with just about anything.

My sweet babies love each other.

I love, love, love my  new straightener from BabyBliss.
I go to bed at night with wet hair and wake up to a maj fro!
But this straightener works so good that I can get my hair shiny-straigh in like 5 minutes.
Only someone with curly hair will get the miracle that this is.
It's a life changer.

Did you watch Rudolph when it came on this week?
I did...kind of...I played on my phone a lot too.
Sue me.  I've only seen it like 1000 times.
I just had to watch it, it's a tradition.

I like to take pictures of my dogs.
You never know when you might get a "viral" picture...
and then, there would be my 30 seconds of fame!

 My Giveaway ends tonight.
Click on the above pic to get to the giveaway post and ENTER!
GO. GO. GO.

 Yesterday was our anniversary.
Four freaking years.
Def my longest relationship and def with my soulmate.
So, ya'll wanna hear something weird?
I completely forgot it was our anniversary!
The Fiance called me around lunch yesterday...here's how the convo went:

The Fiance: Hey, how's your day?  And BTW, Happy Anniversary!
Me:  Oh crap, is that TODAY? I forgot.  I'm so sorry!
The Fiance: (laughing) I was wondering why you hadn't said anything.  I thought you were testing me and I was so proud that I was going to pass the test.

OOPS.  I guess with all the wedding planning it just slipped my  mind.
I came home to these beautiful roses and the sweetest card.

I sat in this lovely traffic today.
I-635 in Dallas is hell.
I was finally able to get off and take back roads but I was still late to work.

And now..for the freaky part of this post.
The Fiance and I are in the kitchen last night.
He's cutting up deer meat for Saturday and I'm watching talking his ear off.
I look up and see ^^THIS THING ^^ on the ledge above our kitchen cabinets.
I just figured the Fiance had put it there to freak me out.
After making him swear on everything dear to him I realized that HE DIDN'T put that up there.
I'm not a fan of clowns, ya'll.  At. All.  Like I was the kid who cried at the sight clowns and balloons.
I texted the couples that we had over Saturday and they insisted they didn't do it either.
We were freaked.
We were about to take back the keys we had given to our family and friends and change the locks.
Finally, we found out who did it.
It's still freaky and I'm still considering burning the sucker.

Have a happy Friday and a great weekend!!

Enjoy...The Curvy Life.

Sweet 16...Things About Me + Cat Pics.

Hi Ya'll!

I don't really have anything great to write about today so I figured I would share a few things about muah!  I mean...there's a long list in my "About Me" section....but there's always "Confessions" about myself that I can share, right?

I've also got some hilarious cat pictures to share.  Who doesn't love a funny cat picture? Actually, I'll tell you who...I have some friends who tell me I'm weird for laughing so hard at cats...clearly, they're sense of humor needs work.

So...let's get started...

REMINDER:  These are my confessions...If you're offended...go somewhere else I'm sorry.

  1. I want a cat for the sole purpose of taking funny pictures of it.  As an animal lover, I'm sure I would learn to love it but really...cats don't love you back.  Let's be honest.
  2. I like to look up pictures of horrible accidents and mangled bodies.
  3. I'm obsessed with true crime stories.  ID Channel, is that you soul mate?
  4. I'm pretty sure that I'm meant to be famous someday, somehow.  Possibly just that "30 second" fame...but famous, none the less.
  5. I hate, hate, hate scary movies and haunted houses...however, I'm obsessed with the show American Horror Story
  6. I would be a horrible movie critic because I can find something good in just about every movie. Except for the first Twilight movie, which was just terrible.  Also, any action movie.  No thanks.  But a good romance, they hook me every time.
  7. I'm fascinated by the Holocaust.  I don't understand that kind of hate or evil.
  8. I hate painting my nails but always want them painted....thank God for a good nail salon.
  9. I have no idea what my natural hair color is.  I've dyed my hair since 8th grade.
  10. I had a near death experience in high school...not really but kind of.  I went through a pipe fence with my car (think Dukes of Hazard)...if my car had been any higher I would have been headless.
  11. I self diagnose myself every. single. time. before I even go to the doctor.  I'm usually never right.  I self diagnose others, too.  Let me know you symptoms and I'll tell you what you have.  Then go straight to the doctor because I get all my info from WebMD so you probably have cancer.
  12. I had to go to Sylvan Learning Center my SENIOR year in high school because I am horrible at math and so was my math teacher.  I was the only kid there that could drive to tutoring.  It was awkward...those chairs were so tiny.  (Yes.  Like Billy Maddison)
  13. My house burned down when I was a junior in high school.  It sucked. (Debbie Downer, is that you?)
  14. I am pretty sure that I have solved the Jon Benet Ramsey case...but no one will listen.
  15. Twitter still confuses me but I love it.  I'm getting better. No, I'm not 90.
  16. I could talk about myself all day.  Which is getting pretty apparent on this post.
I think that is all I will share for today.  Do you still like me?  Are we still friends?

Are you ready for some hilarious cat pictures?  I got all of these from I Can Has Cheezburger.

My favorite cat of all time.  Grumpy cat.  He does her well.

This is highly inappropriate and perfect.  Sick cat.

Kitty has body dismorphia...in a good way.  It's ok.  I do too.

 Cats in cars.  Hilarious.

Clearly, not a cat picture.  Yet, hilarious.
Do you think the world is ending this month? I'm pretty skeptical.

Enjoy...The Curvy Life.

Don't forget about my GIVEAWAY.  I'm going to have the drawing on Saturday, I think.  I just need to check my 1.5 year old nephews schedule because he's going to draw the lucky winner!

Holiday Weight Loss Challenge + Pay It Forward

Hi Ya'll!

Happy Hump Day!!

Today marks the day that I start an exciting Holiday Weight Loss Challenge with Courtney over at Journey of a Dreamer!

Here's the deets:

You pay $20 to join the challenge with Dietbet and your money is put into a "pot" with all the other's in the challenge.  If you lose 4% of your body weight you get your $20 back + (I'm guessing) you split the "pot" with whoever else lost 4% of their body weight.  Pretty awesome, no?  It's a great way to get a jump start on your weight loss for the New Year and to keep you from eating all those cookies and candies during Christmas!  I know I need it!

Every Wednesday is "Weigh In Wednesday" and you link up with Courtney at her blog. (links above).

On Dietbet's site you have to upload a picture of yourself on the scale with whatever "word of the day" they send you along with a full length picture of yourself in your "airport clothes" as they call it. (no shoes, jewelry, etc).  It's all private, if you choose.

I DON'T have to post those pictures on my blog but I have decided that it's time to get REAL about my fat butt (and whole body!).  So I'm going to share with the whole world wide webs my weight.  This scares this shit out of me.  I don't even like to tell my mom my weight....much less everyone that reads my blog!  YIKES!

I need to lose 7 lbs in 28 days, totally do-able!

Join me in this challenge?

OH and btw...that "pot" is up to $6040.00 the last time I looked!  Holla!

This is the picture I shared on DietBet.
A few side notes:
I need a tan, my sign is upside down and aren't you jealous of my cute socks? and Can my smile get any faker?
I'll be honest, I think this mirror makes me look smaller than I am, and since I'm being REAL....

I took another picture in a mirror that doesn't lie to me and tell me I'm skinnier than I really am.
Since it's not full length I couldn't use it for DietBet
Ignore all the crap on my vanity, this is the guest bedroom where I get ready and I'm always running late and well, a slob sometimes.

And here's the awful truth...my weight.
I will not cry, I will not cry, I will not cry....I'm crying a little.
Ya'll, I weighed like 169 last week. So that means I've gained about 5 lbs in a week!
Not cool.
That's what fast food and beer will get you!

I told ya'll yesterday that I was going to start the Couch to 5K program...well, I didn't.  I worked myself up over it so much that I ended up literally making myself sick.  The gym intimidates the hell out of me!  I always seem to get next to the chick that's running (not even out of breath) when I get there and STILL running (and still not out of breath) when I leave.  Then I feel like she's looking over at my tready like "fat ass, can't even run for a minute!" I'm sure that's not what she's really thinking, she's probably more likely thinking "Good for her for getting here and DOING something..." but my insecurities take over when I'm there with all those skinny bitches girls.

In order to not make ANY excuses today I packed my work out bag last night and I'm going straight to the gym after work.
Now that I have $20 to lose, maybe I'll be more motivated.  Maybe.  Hopefully.

I'd love for you to join me in this challenge!  Go here to sign up and let's be those sexy bitches girls at the gym!

Don't forget to visit Mama Laughlin, Aly and Holly's blogs today to read their Pay It Forward stories.

AND...don't forget about my GIVEAWAY going on until Friday!
Entries are low...so your chances are good!

Enjoy...The Curvy Life.
